ABOUT

WHY WE CHOOSE ORGANIC SILK

You spend 1/3 of your life sleeping If you live to 75, that's 25 years of sleep. That's 9,125 days spent dreaming and restoring your body for each day...

At Roumage we believe...

... that organic produce shouldn’t stop at the food you buy and choosing organic and more sustainable materials in all aspects of your life is something we try to encourage those around us to adopt.

Oh so (eco) silky...

The organic silk production process is one of the most eco friendly processes around. Silk worms feed off the mulberry leaf. Mulberry tree plantations help with CO2 production offering a large capacity for carbon mitigation.

Urgh...toxic silk!

Commercial, non-organic silk goes through a cleaning process in which the cocoons of the silk worms are washed with bleach in order to ‘clean’ it of it’s natural protein content. This leaves you sleeping for 8 hours amongst toxic chemicals instead of the natural protein of organic silk fibre.
