Our silky story began in 2018 when Roumage Founder Nikki decided to add to her skill set and attended late night sewing classes after work.

After successfully sewing one pillow slip, two skirts, one top and a pair of shorts Nikki completed the course and was gifted a brand new sewing machine by her friends.

The silk pillow slip is where it all began. Silk pillowslips were on the rise and Nikki’s friends started sending through requests but once she started researching silk suppliers she realised it wasn’t as luxurious and natural as she once thought.

So, organic silk. With her background in sustainable fabrics and a lot of time on her hands Nikki was able to source some of the best GOTS certified organic silk in the world, the only thing good enough for both her friends and the environment.
